Grift shift

Interesting article on AI and more importantly the concept of "grift shift", coined by finance expert Nate Koppikar. He goes into depth about trend-hopping from gimmick gimmick. One day it's crypto and NFT, the next it's Metaverse, once that goes bust or doesn't yield returns that were expected, then it's time to hop on the AI hype train.

AI is evolutionary rather than revolutionary, but do grift shifters evolve or is it all the same to them, the same interchangeable story, with no allegiance to anything other than themselves and to being tightly linked with the current hype?

We'll have to wait and see what happens with AI, but this part is telling: "Investors are growing impatient with the lack of revenue growth from generative AI innovators." 🙂
